FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who Are You and What Do You Do?

Fletcher Recovery Group is one of the leading teams of professional, genealogists and asset recovery researchers in the US. We provide specialized research and legal support service. We trace missing heirs and beneficiaries to unclaimed estates when:

  • Someone has died without leaving a will.

  • Someone named in a will or as an insurance policy beneficiary cannot be found.

  • Financial assets have become separated from the rightful owner.

We also offer a number of other services, including asset and property recovery for corporations.

If we have contacted you and you are ready to initiate the recovery process, start here.

How Did You Get My Information?

We obtain contact information through publicly available records. These include census data, electoral registries, birth, marriage and death certificates as well as court documents.

How Do You Locate Next-of-Kin?

Next of kin refers to a person's closest living blood relative(s). The next-of-kin relationship is important in determining inheritance rights if a person dies without a will and has no spouse and/or children. State law in the United States establishes next-of-kin relationships and inheritance priorities. The deceased's estate becomes state property if no legal heir can be identified.

Our team of genealogical researchers is adept at piecing together family trees to reliably locate rightful heirs and beneficiaries using both public databases and proprietary systems through our network of business partners.

Are You Able to Offer Legal Advice?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any legal advice.

Another Company Has Already Contacted Me, What Should I Do?

We welcome anyone who has been contacted by another firm to get in touch with us to discuss your case. If you have been contacted by us as well as another firm, please give us a call.

Do You Ever Contact People by Email First?

Our first point of contact is almost always by letter or over the phone. However, in some circumstances we may reach out via email, especially if the heir or beneficiary we are trying to trace lives abroad. If you believe we have contacted you by email, we recommend calling us to validate the case details.

Is This a Scam? / Is Fletcher Recovery Group Legit?

We understand that our communication may have seemingly come out of the blue, and the suggestion of ‘free’ money seems unusual, but we can assure you this is a genuine matter. We always welcome you to contact us directly so we can explain further and reassure you.

How Long Does it Take to Resolve a Case?

Timing will vary depending on the specifics of the case and the state in which the assets are being held.  In most instances, case resolution will take between 3 and 9 months. We strive to set expectations for our clients at the outset and we keep in close communications throughout the process to update our clients as we uncover details.
